Description
OZBEE Premium 3 Layer Mesh Beekeeping Suit — Round Head Veil
Three layers of ventilated mesh, a detachable round head veil, and YKK brass zips. Built by OZBEE in Gladstone, Queensland for the part of Australian beekeeping that catches people out — the long inspection in full sun, when a cotton suit has already stopped being wearable.
Air moves through all three mesh layers instead of being trapped against you, and the outer layer sits away from your skin. The round veil holds its shape without touching your face, so you keep clear vision all the way around the hive while both hands are on a frame.
Free shipping is available on this suit. Select your suit size and optional gloves above to see the current total. Afterpay and Zip are available at checkout.
What makes this our Premium suit
OZBEE sells two 3 layer mesh suits. The mesh is the same on both. This one differs in the parts that actually fail:
- YKK brass zips on the body and legs, not plastic. Zips are the first thing to go on a bee suit.
- Double-stitched, reinforced seams — built for repeated washing and rough handling.
- Eleven sizes, 3XS to 5XL, against eight on our standard 3 layer mesh suit. Fit is what protection depends on, so a closer size match matters.
If those three things do not matter for your hive work, our standard 3 layer mesh suit is the same mesh construction at a lower price. We would rather you bought the right one.
Key features
- 3 layer ultra cool mesh — triple-layered cotton mesh circulates air around your body and holds the outer layer away from your skin
- Detachable round head veil — high-visibility mesh with Velcro and zip closure
- YKK brass zips — heavy duty, on both body and legs
- Double-stitched seams — reinforced throughout
- Tool pockets and key chain holder — hive tools stay to hand
- Elastic chin strap and leg seals — adjustable, to close the gaps bees find first
- Sizes 3XS to 5XL
- Unisex. Machine washable (suit only); veil is hand wash.
Who it suits
Beekeepers working through spring and summer, in the sun, with sessions that run long — full hive inspections and honey harvests. Comfortable for backyard apiaries of one to ten hives, and durable enough for commercial use.
If you do several short visits rather than one long session, look at our Premium 3 Layer Mesh Suit with Hoodie Veil — same fabric, same protection, same price, with a veil that folds back between hives.
How to wear it
Put the suit on over your working clothes and zip it fully. Fit the round head veil with the Velcro and zip, then adjust the chin elastic and leg seals until there are no gaps at your wrists or ankles — those are where bees get in, not through the fabric.
After use, check the cuffs, ankles and veil zip for damage. Detach the veil and hand wash it; machine wash the suit on its own with a mild detergent. Dry completely before storing. Replace the veil once the mesh is holed — a patch is not reliable protection.
Size Chart Guide
Measurements are of the garment, not your body — the suit is worn over your working clothes. Match your height to the length column first, then check the chest figure leaves room to bend and lift. Between sizes, go up.
