Description
OZBEE 3 Layer Mesh Beekeeping Suit - Round Head Veil
Three layers of ventilated cotton mesh at our everyday price.
The mesh uses the same three-layer construction as our Premium suit. Air moves through all three layers rather than being trapped against you, and the outer layer sits away from your skin. A detachable round head veil holds its shape clear of your face and gives clear all-round vision while both hands are on a frame.
Built by OZBEE in Gladstone, Queensland. Free shipping Australia-wide.
How this differs from our Premium suit
We sell two 3 layer mesh suits and want you to know which one suits your work.
The mesh is identical. This standard suit uses plastic zips instead of YKK brass zips, standard seams rather than double-stitched reinforced seams, and eight sizes instead of eleven. It is a practical choice for seasonal backyard and hobby beekeeping. For frequent year-round use, the Premium suit is the better long-term choice.
Key features
- 3 layer ultra cool mesh - high-quality cotton mesh that allows air to circulate around your body
- Detachable round head veil with high-visibility mesh, Velcro and zip closure
- Full-length zips on the body and legs
- Multiple tool pockets
- Unisex; machine washable suit, hand wash veil
Who it suits
Backyard and hobby beekeepers working through spring and summer who want three-layer ventilated protection with a round head veil.
Also available with a hoodie veil and in our Premium specification.
How to wear and care for it
Put the suit on over your working clothes and zip it fully. Fit the veil with the Velcro and zip, then close the cuffs and ankles so there are no gaps. After use, check the cuffs, ankles and veil zip for damage. Detach and hand wash the veil; machine wash the suit alone with mild detergent. Air dry both completely before storing.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this and the OZBEE Premium 3 layer mesh suit?
The mesh is the same three-layer ventilated cotton on both. The Premium adds YKK brass zips instead of plastic, double-stitched reinforced seams, and eleven sizes instead of eight.
Can bees sting through a 3 layer mesh suit?
The three layers hold the outer mesh away from your skin, which makes a sting far less likely to reach you than with single-layer fabric. No suit is completely sting-proof; anywhere the fabric is pulled tight against your skin, or where the mesh is damaged, a sting can still get through.
Is the veil detachable?
Yes. It comes off for washing and can be replaced on its own if the mesh is damaged.
Round head or hoodie veil?
Round head holds its shape clear of your face and gives the widest field of view, which suits long inspections and close frame work. Hoodie folds back between hives and packs smaller. Protection is the same.
How do I clean the suit?
Machine wash the suit alone with mild detergent. Hand wash the veil. Air dry both completely before storing.
Is this suit suitable for a beginner?
Yes. Three-layer mesh gives good standoff between the fabric and your skin, which matters most while you are still learning how your colonies respond.
What size should I order?
Use the size chart above. Measurements are of the garment, not your body. Between sizes, go up.
